Pete Wilson, Chief Executive Officer
A 20-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Mr. Wilson co-founded TelAuthority LLC. Mr. Wilson brings a profound perspective into the dynamics of carrier pricing, cost structures, procurement processes and negotiation strategies for large enterprise sourcing initiatives.
Prior to creating TelAuthority, Mr. Wilson was the founder and CEO of Telwares. Created in 1994, Mr. Wilson grew the company into the largest and most respected telecom consultancy focused on procurement and negotiations for enterprise companies. Mr. Wilson’s whole career has involved defining how telecommunication services are optimally procured by large enterprises and he has led the charge to open up mobility services to the same competitive processes as traditional wireline. Mr. Wilson has personally led the negotiations for contracts well into the billions of dollars representing hundreds of millions in enterprise savings. During his 11 year tenure with Telwares, over 30 Fortune 100 and 180 Fortune 500 companies were engaged and this experience on an individual level is unparalleled in the industry. Mr. Wilson sold his Telwares interests to the private equity arm of JP Morgan Chase in 2004.
Before becoming a successful entrepreneur, Mr. Wilson had a distinguished career with major telecommunication carriers. Mr. Wilson honed his broad set of industry skills and rose to industry prominence via these senior level positions in telecommunications product marketing, finance, sales and business planning.
Prior to founding Telwares, he led Sprint’s special pricing and contract negotiations functions for the global, national and carrier markets. Prior to Sprint, Mr. Wilson directed the product marketing and pricing functions that fueled the growth of Telecom USA into the nation’s 4th largest carrier leading to its acquisition by MCI.
Mr. Wilson has been a frequent speaker at industry and business organizations such as the Ascent, Sourcing Interest Group (SIG) and SuperComm. He has contributed to many telecom news stories in publications such as the New York Times, Crain’s Business Daily, Investor’s Business Daily, CIO Magazine, Network World, IP Telephony, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, and many others.
Mr. Wilson earned a B.S. in Business Administration from George Mason University, and is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant.
